Hit the Track with UBET - For the Thrill of It
A smart mid-race move by odds-on favourite Outside Pass allowed the Tony Apap-trained greyhound to take the Queensland UBET National Distance Final ahead of Big Easy Red at Albion Park on Thursday.

Despite missing the kick and looking to be in trouble heading through the first turn, the black bitch would be within striking distance as they passed the post for the first time.

Outside Pass went on to win in 31.8 with the ultra-strong Big Easy Red mounting a late challenge to finish second.

Apap’s other fancied runner Jalapeno spent much of the race in the back half of the field, before charging late to snare third and book a spot as an emergency.

Champagne Sally will also gain a spot as an emergency runner after finishing fourth.

The southern brigade look the major threats in next Friday’s final (August 25), with Burn One Down and Ebby Ripper both enjoying runs previously at Albion Park.
