Racing Queensland (RQ) has appointed Adam Wallish to the newly created position of greyhound development and strategy manager.
The role will have the responsibility for developing many aspects of greyhound racing in Queensland, including formulating and implementing business development initiatives, overseeing existing greyhound operations, leading stakeholder engagement and the provision of code-specific advice in relation to projects, including infrastructure.
The former CEO of Greyhound Racing Victoria (GRV), Mr Wallish said he was looking forward to reconnecting with greyhound participants and all industry stakeholders in Queensland.
“I am genuinely excited about the opportunities for greyhound racing in this state,” he said.
“I am pleased to be joining RQ at this time and am keen to help guide the organisation to assist it to realise its ambition to become one of the country’s leading racing jurisdictions.”
Racing Queensland CEO Eliot Forbes said Mr Wallish’s appointment demonstrated RQ's commitment to enhancing and growing the greyhound industry in Queensland.
Immediately prior to joining RQ, Mr Wallish was consulting to the racing industry across a broad range of matters.
His other executive experience includes board member and CEO of Little Athletics Australia and international business manager for Sky Channel (2000 to 2003).
