The Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) has renewed the registration of Racing Queensland (RQ) as a Registered Training Operator after an audit review process.
In May, ASQA rejected the application for renewal of the registration on the grounds of non-compliance after issues were identified during an audit. RQ appealed ASQA’s decision and after working with ASQA the national regulator decided to revoke their decision and grant an application to renew RQ’s registration for two years.
RQ CEO Dr Eliot Forbes said the decision was in recognition of the positive collaboration between RQ and the Authority. “We were concerned about the original decision by ASQA and worked with them closely to clarify and address the issues.
“The education of industry students has continued without interruption and we have employed a leading educator in Maurice Logue to head the department into the future.
“We acknowledge the importance of good education and training to racing participants and we remain committed to playing a key role in this critical aspect of the racing industry,” said Dr Forbes.
