Racing Queensland (RQ) has appointed David Brick to the recently created position of Harness Development and Strategy Manager commencing on 1 June, 2017.
The role will have responsibility for developing many aspects of harness racing in Queensland, including formulating and implementing business development initiatives, overseeing existing harness operations, leading stakeholder engagement and the provision of code-specific advice in relation to projects, including infrastructure.
“I’m looking forward to joining the Racing Queensland team and working with the many industry stakeholders, from grass roots to the elite, to drive engagement, promotion and participation,” said Mr Brick.
Immediately prior to joining RQ, Mr Brick was the Chief Executive Officer for Victorian Harness Racing Clubs where he represented, developed and supported all Victorian Clubs both individually and as a regional network. He also has managerial experience with Harness Racing Victoria as the Manager – Metropolitan Racing and the Manager, Club Liaison and Operations.
Racing Queensland CEO Eliot Forbes said Mr Brick’s appointment demonstrated RQ's commitment to enhancing and growing the harness racing industry in Queensland.
