10 Aug 2017 Racing Queensland (RQ) will be represented on the global stage on and off the track this week. With Queensland’s Shane Graham en-route to Canada to represent Australia in the World Driving Championships, one of harness racing’s most experienced campaigners will be in-tow to attend the 25th World Trotting Conference. With more than 50 years of experience in harness racing, RQ Board Member Margaret Reynolds will attend the conference where racing jurisdictions from around the world share best practice models. Ms Reynolds will join representatives from every Australian state, as well as representatives from New Zealand, to discuss a wide range of topics including: Equine Health Integrity Breeding Marketing Business Development Racing and Wagering “I feel privileged to have this opportunity to represent the Queensland racing industry, and to gather information and network with so many leaders of our great sport,” Ms Reynolds said. “I believe this experience will allow me to bring home ideas to continue to grow the sport into the future.” The final day of the conference will coincide with the final night of the WDC, where Ms Reynolds will be willing on Australian representative, Shane Graham. Among a long list of key objectives set out by the International Trotting Association is, determining strategies for the promotion and enhancement of the sport, to stimulate public and government interest in trotting, and to encourage and promote interest in the breeding, training and care, equine research and veterinary science relating to horses.
