Exciting Arrivals At Egmont Park

Former star race mare Forever Gold has delivered her first colt.

Last season, the $700,000 earner produced a strong and healthy filly by star sire Rock N Roll Heaven in her maiden attempt as a broodmare.

In the early hours of Tuesday morning at Egmont Park Stud on the Darling Downs, Forever Gold is now the proud mother of a quality colt by former North American racetrack freak Captaintreacherous.

“We’re absolutely thrilled with a colt; both mare and foal are in good order so we can’t be any happier.” Co-owner/breeder Murray Cole said.

On the track, Captaintreacherous had no peer winning 21 of his 31 career starts which included feature race triumphs in the Breeders Crown (as a 2yo & 3yo), North America Cup, Meadowlands Pace, Cane Pace, Max Hempt Memorial, Tattersalls Pace, Bluegrass, Metro Pace and Woodrow Wilson among many others.

The son of Somebeachsomewhere became the first two-year-old pacer in history to win four sub-1:50 mile races.

He took a lifetime mark of 1:47.1 while banking more than $3.1 million.

At the recently completed Lexington Selected Yearling Sales at Fasig Tipton, Captaintreacherous had 52 yearlings sell for impressive total of $3,665,000!

Forever Gold retires with 42 victories from 92 starts while prepared throughout her career by Kylie Rasmussen and Darren Weeks.

Some of her biggest victories include the Queensland Oaks, Inter Dominion heat, Governors Cup, Robin Dundee Stakes, Make Mine Cullen, 4/5yo Championship, Qld Ladyship Stakes (x 4) and the 2yo & 3yo QBRED Breeders Classic and Triads Finals.

Feature race placings include Nursery Pace Final, Gold Coast Oaks, Ladyship Mile, Teeny Teeny, Ranji Bill, Angelique Club Cup, Northern Breeders Stakes, Queen of Hearts, Redcliffe Gold Cup, Lord Mayors Cup, Christmas Cup, Sunshine Sprint and Blacks A Fake.

No decision has been made on what stallion will cover the Gr.1 winning daughter of Famous Forever.

Another exciting foaling recently at Egmont Park was the arrival of a half-brother to star rookie Colt Thirty One (7 wins from 11 starts).

Charm Personified produced a colt by Mr Feelgood, making the colt a full brother to Charming Allie (18 wins - $266k).

A future star could be amongst the latest foalings.

Time will tell.
