Racing Queensland is partnering with Women's Cancer Foundation and joining Team Teal in 2017 to raise funds for gynaecological cancer research.
In accordance with the definitions within the Racing Act 2002, Racing Queensland does not determine racing events involving animals other than Thoroughbred and Standardbred horses and Greyhound dogs to be racing events.
Racing Queensland acknowledges however, that there is growing participant support for alternate racing events and it is important for Clubs to explore ways to generate revenue for their Club outside traditional racing activities.
Given a large enough pool of horses and regular racing at some point in the future, there may be an opportunity for wagering to take place on these events however, Racing Queensland holds the current position on the matter.
Clubs are asked to send their requests to their Racing Manager for initial approval;
