RACE TWO

TORQUE WITH AN ACE (9) will strip fitter following a return from a break when working wide in the run at Kilcoy on the grass. She has struggled at her 5 career starts but strikes a winnable contest and despite the tough gate can break the maiden.

WEDDING NIGHT (7) has placed in the past 2 starts both when looking to lead all the way on each occasion and rundown close to the wire in each. She will need some luck from this gate as she looks likely to be buried away but in a wide-open contest has some hope.

SHAKEITUP (2) is the veteran of 3 career starts with 2 of those coming from wide gates. 2 runs back from gate 1 he was buried away on the pegs and found the line nicely when 4m from the winner. He has some claims here.

BARBIE MATTGREGOR (10) made an error in the run last start which followed a tough run when facing the breeze. He has some convictions, but if able to do everything right can be an improver.

SELECTIONS: TORQUE WITH AN ACE (9), WEDDING NIGHT (7), SHAKEITUP (2), BARBIE MATTGREGOR (10)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

INVITE ONLY (2) has placed in 4 of her past 5 starts, the most recent when claiming the silver behind KALINDA at Kilcoy on the grass. Her run in a mares qualifier 2 starts back was full of merit when finding the line strongly from gate 7 and from the good gate looks to get every chance.

RUFFALO (5) went within 1.5m of landing a victory here 3 starts back when 2nd to TRIJET and followed that with a 3m 3rd to GLENFERRIE DUSTER. Taken to Kilcoy on Sat he worked home well from the 2nd line to score a good win. The wide gate hurts yet he is still in the fight.

KAANAPALI (8) was wide and well back when striking some trouble last start and never in the call. His run 2 starts back was a tidy effort and from this alley can get a good run through to settle handy to give him some hope.

ANN MATTGREGOR (3) has had no luck in her 3 starts this prep and had factors against her in each of the starts. If everything goes well here, she can settle close to the speed and a big turn-around would be no surprise.

SELECTIONS: INVITE ONLY (2), RUFFALO (5), KAANAPALI (8), ANN MATTGREGOR (3)
SUGGESTED BET: INVITE ONLY (2) to win

RACE FOUR

BIG BEAT (9)
faces a tricky gate here but finds himself in a winnable contest after finishing top 3 in 6 of his past 7 starts. His effort last start from gate 6 was full of merit when striking trouble and wide off the track and still within 8m of the winner. Only beaten a half-head 3 starts back he looks hard to stop here.

HERES MY NUMBER (6) will strip fitter following 1 run back from a break where he was closing out strongly behind MAJOR GENERALJUJON after starting from gate 8. His run was good when 4th to MACH SAM at his last run before being given a spell and despite a tough gate has claims.

MAVRETA (2) will take good benefit from her run here last week when working home in good order to claim the bronze behind GROOVY MISS ANNIE. That was her 1st start in 16 months and with the added fitness and return to the front line is a big plus.

MIDLOIN BLUES (7) will need plenty of luck from this gate as he looks likely to be buried in the run. Finding the leaders back from the six-hole last start he held on for the silver behind the smart SOMWHEREOVARAINBOW. With a pinch of luck he can feature.

SELECTIONS: BIG BEAT (9), HERES MY NUMBER (6), MAVRETA (2), MIDLOIN BLUES (7)
SUGGESTED BET: BIG BEAT (9) to win

RACE FIVE

LUCKY NED PEPPER (3) has found his rhythm and been top 3 at each of his past 4 starts including a strong Marburg win in a heat. In the final at AP on Sat night he was forced to do plenty of work in the run when fighting on gamely to hold the bronze behind ARGYLE BEACH. This looks his to lose.

RAFFERTY DELIGHTS (7) will be looking for a slice of luck to find space when needed but if close enough to strike when the gap presents can sprint hard. He was finishing strongly along the passing lane last start when beaten a nose behind BOB GAGE and will be right there in the finish.

KALINDA (6) will strip fitter from her latest run when returning off a freshen. Takeo the grass at Kilcoy she finished best to land a tidy win and despite the tough gate here can get amongst the action.

JULIA MAC (1) found her race here 3 starts back and from the front took them all the way in making the most of an improved alley. Well held in the Marburg to Albion final last start she can be sharper back to the Redcliffe ace.

SELECTIONS: LUCKY NED PEPPER (3), RAFFERTY DELIGHTS (7), KALINDA (6), JULIA MAC (1)
SUGGESTED BET: LUCKY NED PEPPER (3) to win

RACE SIX

LEVI JADE (7)
will need some luck and factors to go his way, however in a race where he can enjoy a great trip, he is worth a ticket. He will find this well below the Sat night events that he has been taking on in recent weeks, including a tidy 2nd to YANKEE STRUTTER. When the gap opens he will be sprinting hard.

GLENFERRIE DUSTER (2) made his Qld debut a winning one here last week when leading all the way from gate 1 and never bothered to score a 2m victory. Fitter for that run he can look to press forward and can be in the mix again.

OUR BODACIOUS (1) found a suitable race 4 starts back and looked to take them all the way and was grabbed in the closing stages. From wider gates at his past few he has been forced to work and from the improved gate will look to dictate.

NEVAEH (5) found the front at AP over the mile 2 starts back and after releasing the pressure held the silver behind SURFACE TO AIR. The wide gate makes it a little tricky, but she can challenge.

SELECTIONS: LEVI JADE (7), GLENFERRIE DUSTER (2), OUR BODACIOUS (1), NEVAEH (5)
SUGGESTED BET: LEVI JADE (7) to win

RACE SEVEN

VADER (1) led them up from gate 1 in a much stronger band 5 event on Sat night over the 2138m trip and the run was full of merit when claiming the bronze and beaten 5m behind THE SHADY ONE. Back to the 1780m suits and if able to pinch a panel in front they will struggle to run him down.

MY MASTERCRAFTSMAN (7) has placed in his past 3 starts and will follow the speed and be coiled and ready to strike. From this gate last start he used the passing lane to get within 5m of OYSTER STRIDE. He might just lack the zip to get up the lane but will be right there.

OYSTER STRIDE (8) landed another victory to make it 4 on end when leading all the way for a good win here over the 1780m trip. Each of the 4 wins have been when lighting the lamps and while he won’t get that luxury here, winning form is hard to knock.

MASTER MONTANA (4) took on a grass track event on Sat when finishing a 3m 2nd to RIVERLEIGH JEFF. His previous 4 starts have bene from wider gates and he can be an improver from this alley.

SELECTIONS: VADER (1), MY MASTERCRAFTSMAN (7), OYSTER STRIDE (8), MASTER MONTANA (4)
SUGGESTED BET: VADER (1) to win

RACE EIGHT

WOODLEA BEAU (2)
will find this easier than his latest start when making his return to Qld. Taking on a Rising Stars heat he struck the brilliant COLT THIRTY ONE in finishing down the line after being buried away. Fitter for the run he lands a good alley and can sneak away with this.

BOB GAGE (3) made the most of an improved gate last start and led all the way, holding on for a narrow victory. Never far from the action in these type of races he will be right in the mix.

STEVEEJAY (1) held the pocket trail from this gate 3 starts back and claimed the bronze when beaten 2m behind OUR BUSCEMI. He will find this easier than his past 2 at AP and from the gate can return an improved effort.

PUNTERS DELIGHT (7) will be reliant on some factors going his way and if STEVEEJAY does somehow lead them up, his stocks will rise. His past 2 runs have been full of merit from wide gates and he can’t be ignored here.

SELECTIONS: WOODLEA BEAU (2), BOB GAGE (3), STEVEEJAY (1), PUNTERS DELIGHT (7)
SUGGESTED BET: WOODLEA BEAU (2) to win
