Rockhampton Greyhound Track Redevelopment

Racing Queensland advises stakeholders that the Rockhampton greyhound track will undergo a redevelopment during the month of September and as such will be closed for racing.

The track redevelopment will include complete removal of the existing track surface, excavation, reshaping and reinforcing of the base and sub-base layers to new design levels, new sand racing profile to depth of 150mm, widening and realignment of partial perimeter fencing, repositioning of the 407m start, and other incidental works as required.

The last meeting at Rockhampton will be 29 August 2018. The track is expected to be closed for approximately four (4) weeks to allow the works to be completed.

The race meetings for 5 September, 12 September, 19 September, and 26 September have been transferred to the Ipswich Greyhound Racing Club.

Nominations for the Ipswich meetings will close on Monday mornings at 9.30am. The race program for each of these meetings is as follows:

  • Maiden 288m
  • Novice 288m
  • Masters 5th Grade 288m
  • Best 8 288m
  • Graded Races As Required

Any amendments to these dates are subject to the availability of the Rockhampton greyhound track and will be communicated to stakeholders if required.
