Racing Queensland is excited to announce the launch of a new-look website aimed at providing punters and participants with more information than ever before.

The new www.racingqueensland.com.au went live on November 6, and aims to provide a user-friendly experience for the more than 400,000 unique visitors who land on the webpage more than 11 million times per-year.

Racing Queensland Chief Executive Officer, Dr Eliot Forbes, said months of careful planning and analysis had gone into the design of the new website.

“The new website will be an important asset to help improve the user experience for punters and industry stakeholders in Queensland, and across Australia,” he said.

“Among the major changes will be simpler navigation to find important racing information, next to jump information with links to RQ wagering partner, UBET, and a black book system to help punters follow their favourite runners, jockeys, drivers or trainers.”

Among the other changes are:

- A new ‘Tip List’ function which allows punters to share their tips via social media

- Jockey, trainer and runner profile pages with quick links to replays and form

- A new race planner for thoroughbred stakeholders to assist in scheduling

- Improved form pages with additional statistics and embedded filters

- Related news content within form pages to further inform visitors

- A new race replay viewer for desktop and mobile devices

- Cross-linked content to help access form more easily

- Enhanced upcoming event information linking back to club social media and event pages

- A live calendar tool which allows form, previous results, and replays to be accessed in one click

Racing Queensland is continuing to make further improvements to site functionality and page load speed.

“Racing Queensland generates a significant amount of data which is of interest to the modern punter. The new website will allow us to bring this data to life. More additions will be made in the coming weeks and months as we receive feedback from users,” Dr Forbes said.

The new website will be an important tool to follow all the action from the 2017/18 Queensland Summer Racing Carnival, and the UBET Queensland Summer Crowns Series.

RQ’s revamped 2016 Summer Racing Carnival helped achieve a 7.1% increase on total turnover compared to the same period a year earlier, and an increase of 22.4% in average turnover per-race.

“With the return of the Racing Queensland Summer Crowns for thoroughbreds, major Harness and Greyhound carnival events, and a new website aimed at helping more punters bet with confidence
on Queensland product, Racing Queensland aims to generate further wagering growth on Queensland product during the Summer Carnival period,” Dr Forbes said.

Racing Queensland developers are actively gathering feedback from regular RQ website users, and are continuing to strive to improve the customer experience.
