This year’s Audi Centre Toowoomba Weetwood race day will feature prizemoney totalling more than $780,000.

Nine races have already been scheduled on the day – Saturday, April 7 – much to the delight of Toowoomba Turf Club Chief Executive Officer Blair Odgers.

“The strength of acceptances for last year’s event has set us in good stead for 2018. We won’t be surprised if strong nominations lead to Racing Queensland extending the program to 10 races for the day again this year.

“The 2018 Audi Centre Toowoomba Weetwood is set to be one of the largest and richest ever race events conducted at Clifford Park.

“Last year, a prize money record was set of $850,000 – which goes to show the growth and strength of the Weetwood carnival,” Mr Odgers said.

Announcements for this year’s Audi Centre Toowoomba Weetwood will continue to roll-out over the next few weeks, including the announcement of this year’s Face Of Weetwood Ambassador, the new Clive Berghofer Grande Atrium marquee project, a new premier sponsor and celebrity guests (for race day and the Weetwood Calcutta Sportsman’s Lunch).

In other Weetwood news, ticketing and marketing for the much-loved annual event will go live on the dedicated Weetwood website (www.weetwood.com.au) on Monday (February 12).

“We have many options to tailor individual Weetwood experiences this year,” Mr Odgers said.

“We’re excited that this year’s Audi Centre Toowoomba Weetwood will be the first race day inside our new Clive Berghofer Grande Atrium function space. It will be a highly sought-after place for people to spend Weetwood this year, so I suggest people book their tickets early.

“The Grande Atrium is a game-changer for the TTC – thanks to the incredible generosity of Mr Clive Berghofer – and you’ll experience Weetwood in a very special, new way this year.

“Visit the dedicated Weetwood website from Monday and keep an eye out for our dining package, which will detail all function ticketing for the day,” Mr Odgers said.
