RACE TWO

KAANAPALI (1) held the front from this same gate last start and lighting the lamps held on to score a 1.5m victory. He was grabbed on the line the start prior when looking to take them all the way, also from gate 1. This is a touch harder but if he can pinch a pal in front, he can look to hold them off.

COURAGEOUS LEO (7) was 1st up from a break last start and pressing ahead to find the front from gate 3 couldn’t hold on when folding up and trailing them in. He was in good form prior to the break with 4 wins in succession including a strong win here over the 1780m. With a cosy run from the trail he can take the closing shot.

BELLA RIPPIN (4) speared out from gate 6 at AP last start to find the pegs before releasing and held on for the bronze behind HEEZ PERFECT. She hit the line in good style here 2 starts back and will be closing hard here.

THE GUN ROCKSTAR (3) had been taking on some stronger races at AP and was getting well beaten behind some classy types. Back to Redcliffe 2 starts back he appreciated the assignment and has been able to place his past 2. He can roll forward to work in the run and will be in for the fight.

SELECTIONS: KAANAPALI (1), COURAGEOUS LEO (7), BELLA RIPPIN (4), THE GUN ROCKSTAR (3)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-3-4-7

RACE THREE

LISA LINCOLN (5) returned from a spell over the AP 2138m trip and set a solid tempo out in front before her condition gave out and she faded late behind SOMWHEREOVARAINBOW. Given a shot at a NSW Oaks heat prior to her spell, she was not disgraced behind SHEZ ALL ROCK. She will need to have the skates on early but can cross them and look to dictate.

TELL THE LINESMAN (3) is another having its 1st start for Darrel Graham on the card and will be 1st up since Feb when down the line from a wide gate at Charlton. He contested a Vic Derby heat when well covered behind LUMINEER 3 starts back and in his only local trial was pushed along in the closing stages of that hit-out. He stays under notice.

FRENCH DIVA (1) is yet to miss a cheque in 4 appearances and last start showed the benefit of improvement and experience by swooping home hard and going past them to score by 8m. This is harder but she can take another step here with the cosy trip.

MICKEE CULLEN (8)
looked to have lost all chance last start when he made an error and looked to be out of play. Chasing hard from back in the pack, he just kept coming and arrived in the last stride to score. He has podium claims in this.

SELECTIONS: LISA LINCOLN (5), TELL THE LINESMAN (3), FRENCH DIVA (1), MICKEE CULLEN (8)
SUGGESTED BET:  LISA LINCOLN (5) to win

RACE FOUR

MY MAGIC MERLIN (5)
returned from break 4 starts back over the mile and worked hard in the run in a tidy return. Again working hard when 2nd up in the Triad Consolation the run was solid and he went within a neck here on the triangle 3rd up. Beaten in 2 of his past 3 by runners lining up in the Derby on this card, he might just be worth a sneaky shot at the stumps.

DATSGOOD (1) has been runner-up in 3 of her past 4 starts, the latest a top effort when cutting the breeze and grabbed on the line by JUSTALITTLE TORQUE. Too far back in the Triad Consolation behind OPONINIS BLISS and not pacing cleanly, she can look to make the most of her chances from this alley.

REGAL ROCK (4) will be 1st up in Qld and since Feb for the Darrel Graham barn. Sent around in a trial to blow the cobwebs out he wasn’t asked for much in setting a nice platform for his return. He will be in the mix here.

STATEMENT PLEASE (2) was returning from a break in the Triad Consolation and was buried away in the run off a 2nd line gate and didn’t get a decent shot at them. With good early speed she can have a look and fitter for the 1st up run has some claims here.

SELECTIONS: MY MAGIC MERLIN (5), DATSGOOD (1), REGAL ROCK (4), STATEMENT PLEASE (2)
SUGGESTED BET: MY MAGIC MERLIN (5) each-way

RACE FIVE

REGULUS (11)
will be fitter following his run in the heat when 2nd up from a break. He resumed in the Breeders Classic and may have been underdone but still gave a solid account of himself behind CAPITALIZE. He destroyed them in the heats when bolting clear to a huge win. He looks the one to stop.

JUST WON MORE (6) was a good improver to claim his heat when sent forward from gate 5 and taking control he never looked in danger. With more improvement since the heats and the chance he can slide across and take it up again here, he can run a bold race.

MUCHO GUAPA (1) had trialled well in preparation for her debut and from gate 1 was hustling early to protect the inside when going off-stride. That looked her series done, however she chased hard and grabbed 3rd to stamp the ticket to the big dance. Better for the experience she can feature.

ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (10) landed a maiden breaking win on debut up the passing lane here and then into the Breeders Classic had no luck whatsoever when stuck in traffic. With the right cart into the race, he can be finishing over the top of them.

SELECTIONS: REGULUS (11), JUST WON MORE (6), MUCHO GUAPA (1), ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (10)
SUGGESTED BET: REGULUS (11) to win

RACE SIX

POINT OH FIVE (11)
was closing out in good order in the Triad Consolation when grabbing the bronze at his debut. He lost his place chance on the home turn and while he was never going to win, 2nd placed looked to have his name all over it. He can finish over the top of these.

SAMS THE BEST (5) was off the 2nd line in the heats and got caught in a scrimmage that hurt his hopes. His run in the Breeders Classic was a top effort after being buried away on the pegs and he was making good ground late. He can look to fire off the gate and will be right in the fight.

HIPSTAR (6) has mixed results in his 3 career starts that have seen him score a last stride win in the Triad Consolation after securing a good run in the pocket trail. He made an error in the heat but can be an improver despite the tough gate.

SELECTIONS: POINT OH FIVE (11), SAMS THE BEST (5), HIPSTAR (6)
SUGGESTED BET: POINT OH FIVE (11) to win

RACE SEVEN

COLT THIRTY ONE (2) is a star on the rise and he looks nigh on impossible to be beaten here. Last start in the Triad Final he worked in the run when facing the breeze and arrogantly put his rivals to sleep on the home turn and coasted home untouched to a 16m victory. He rolls straight to the front here and it looks a case of by how far.

AQUA MISS (4) scored the Triad Final for the fillies last start and gets her shot against the boys in the Derby. Sent straight to the front in the Triad off gate 4 she controlled the tempo and zipped home in 27.2 to an easy win. That followed a 6th to SHEZ ALL ROCK in the Vic Oaks and she has the class over the rest of the field.

ONLY ONE PROMISE (7) didn’t get a clean shot at them in the Triad behind COLT THIRTY ONE when buried away. He claimed the silver last start when closing out nicely behind FIRE ONE and with the soft run here will be probing for openings.

MAJORDOIT (1) is showing great improvement through the season and last start over the 2138m at AP did his share of work off the 2nd line when holding on to the silver. He made ground in the latter stages of the Triad and the cosy trip is ideal.

SELECTIONS: COLT THIRTY ONE (2), AQUA MISS (4), ONLY ONE PROMISE (7), MAJORDOIT (1)
SUGGESTED BET: Flexi trifecta 2/ 4-7 / 1-4-7

RACE EIGHT

SPUD (1)
can look to make the most of his front line advantage and with good manners from the tapes can step to the front and look to control it from the front. He made a mess of the start from the mobile 3 starts back yet finished strongly when 3rd to OUR OVARANOVA. The first look at the triangle is a query, yet he looks to get his chance.

OUR OVERANOVA (7) returns to Redcliffe for the 1st time in over 3 years and has the big handicap to overcome. A winner over the 1660m mobile 2 starts back, he was saved for a closing shot last start over the 2647m trip at AP when 9m from MISTER GUNSEN. 2 from 2 at the track he is a big danger.

OUR DAINTY LADY (5) is another having her 1st look at Redcliffe. 3 starts back she went to the front over the mobile mil and it was only OUR OVERANOVA that could get past her. She meets him 10m better than their last meeting from the tapes and she can look to roll forward here.

LANSBURY (4) was a winner on Tuesday when taking the closing shot and grabbing IVANOV late. This is a rise in class, but with a good record at Redcliffe and a cosy run in transit gives her exotic hopes.

SELECTIONS: SPUD (1), OUR OVERANOVA (7), OUR DAINTY LADY (5), LANSBURY (4)
SUGGESTED BET: SPUD (1) to win
