After discussions with the Albion Park Harness Racing Club and Queensland industry representatives the race conditions for the Aspirational Series have been amended effective immediately.

The details of the conditions now added are below:

“For horses that have not won more than $5,000 at their last 3 starts.”

“Winners of an Aspirational race are ineligible to contest future Aspirational races.”

The full race conditions are published below:

“Career Penalty event for horses that have not won more than $5,000 at their last 3 starts. For horses prepared by trainers that have not trained or driven a winner of more than 3 races with a value of more than $10,999 in the last two years. To be eligible horses must be trained by a Queensland licensed trainer and have been in the trainers stable for at least 30 days as evidenced by current stable return. Racing Queensland (RQ) will be the sole judge to determine eligibility. RQ reserve the right to omit any horse from the nominations should it be deemed a trainer may be taking an unfair advantage of the conditions. Winners of an Aspirational race are ineligible to contest future Aspirational races. If multiple divisions are required an $8,040 Career Penalty event may be conducted.”

One Aspirational race of $10,540 per month will be conducted at Albion Park on a Saturday night.

A new race to be known as the “Perseverance Pace” of $8,040 targeting Hobbyist trainers will be programmed for Albion Park on a Saturday night and will also be held once per month.

Conditions for the Perseverance Pace are as follows:

“For horses that have not won more than $3,000 at their last 3 starts. For horses prepared by trainers that have not trained or driven a winner of more than 6 races with a value of more than $5,999 in the last two years. Winners of a Perseverance Pace are ineligible to contest future Perseverence races.”

The Aspirational and Perseverance races were implemented to provide opportunities for less successful trainers at the grass roots level to compete at a Saturday night meeting with the potential to win attractive prizemoney and assist in spreading prizemoney wider amongst participants.

The Aspirational and Perseverance races are proudly sponsored by Kevin & Kay Seymour.

Albion Park also regularly host the Final of the Marburg To Albion Park Series which also assists in providing opportunities to participants who may not normally have the opportunity to compete at Albion Park on a Saturday night.
