RACE ONE

TOP FLIGHT CRUIZE (8)
has been in super touch since arriving in Qld and has 3 wins and 3 placings from his 6 appearances. He worked home well last week from the 2nd line to score and the form was franked with JAKES A JOY (3rd) winning on Sat night. This is his biggest test to date, but with the right run in transit he can arrive again.

SAMS A CHAMP (2) was buried away on the pegs last start and didn’t get enough time to challenge when finishing 6m from the winner MAGNUSSEN. That followed a hat-trick of victories all here on the triangle. He can settle close here and will be right in the fight.

ROWDYS ACE (1) will strip fitter from his latest run which was his 1st run back from a spell when doing some early work when looking if the front was available before slotting in for running line cover. He is a quick beginner that can make the most of the gate and if the ship can be steadied in the middle stages, he will go close.

SPONDOOLEY (5) has been runner up at 3 of his past 5 starts, the latest 2 when beaten a nose and 2m. He will be snagged back at the start of this and look for the pegs, but look for him swooping home late and if the tempo is solid, he can arrive in time to take this if the luck falls his way.

SELECTIONS: TOP FLIGHT CRUIZE (8), SAMS A CHAMP (2), ROWDYS ACE (1), SPONDOOLEY (5)
SUGGESTED BET: : TOP FLIGHT CRUIZE (8) to win

RACE TWO

KETUT (1) has been runner-up here at Redcliffe at each of his past 2 starts. His run 2 starts back was tidy effort when beaten 5m and was hitting the line strongly behind the tear-away CONTROVERSIAL. and followed that with a head 2nd to MOHEGAN SUN. With options at the start, he can take this.

MONTCALM (3) was sent forward in the middle stages over the 2040m start here last time out and in a strong closing 800m battled away for the bronze. His run here 3 starts back behind COUNTDOWN was a good effort and having a shot for the front early, might just have the pace to get there.

REMEMBER RUBY (7) should enjoy an economical run and will be ready to offer when the gaps present. She has been racing well on the Sat night circuit, including placings in 3 of her past 4 starts and running some strong closing panels. With the cosy trip here she can finish hard to be right in the frame here.

ROYAL COUNSEL (9) shoots for the hat-trick after a win at each of AP and here at Redcliffe. Last start she rolled forward from gate 6 and then was forced to work in the run but was still too strong. Her mares qualifying win 2 starts back was a nice run when able to find space on the pegs and despite needing plenty of luck from this gate, she has  claims.

SELECTIONS: KETUT (1), MONTCALM (3), REMEMBER RUBY (7), ROYAL COUNSEL (9)
SUGGESTED BET: KETUT (1) to win

RACE THREE

OSCARS GLORY (1) took the silver here last week after starting from gate 4 and running the smart HEEZ PERFECT to a 6m margin. 2 starts back he looked to take them all the way over the 1780m trip but was grabbed late when finishing 3m from the winner. From this gate and with limited pressure, he can take this.

BUBBALOOBAH (7) should enjoy the cosy trip here and will look to offer a challenge when seeing space. 2 starts back from this same gate she was able to secure the bronze and last start was running to the wire strongly from the 2nd line. With the expected good trip, she looks a good quinella play.

BARON JUJON (4) was a winner here 3 starts back in a strong effort when pressing forward from gate 6 and proved to pack too many guns. He followed that with a late-closing 3rd after starting from the widest slot on the 2nd line. He will appreciate this type of race and opponents and is in the mix.

WEASEL (3) looked to have found his race last start but from a 2nd line gate worked hard but couldn’t reel in the deficit to finish 2m from the winner LYNCHMAN. That followed a 3rd when working in the run when pressing ahead off gate 6 to face the breeze and with even luck in transit he has minor claims.

SELECTIONS: OSCARS GLORY (1), BUBBALOOBAH (7), BARON JUJON (4), WEASEL (3)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FOUR

THE FORMULA ONE (4) will strip fitter following his 1st run in Qld and 1st since returning from a spell. That was last week where he started off gate 5 and was sent forward and worked in the run facing the breeze with his run full of merit. He can work forward again here and with the added fitness take this.

LATIN BEATS (10) settled 1x2 in the running line last start and then came with 1 closing shot when sprinting sharply and arriving in time to score. She started from gate 3 in that event and if she can settle in the running line without being too far back, she will be some threat once again.

CHANG (2) started from the 2nd line here 2 starts back and came with 1 wide run and went within 2m of victory. Starting from gate 4 at his most recent start he found himself back in the pack and couldn’t make any ground when well held behind LUVU GRAZAELLA. From the improved gate he can settle handy which will suit.

SHERKHAN (1) started from gate 3 last start and looked to work forward to get to the pegs but was forced to work hard in the run which undid his chances. 3 starts back he found a much easier contest and after a retake looked to hold on until grabbed near the line when beaten 2m. From this gate he can place.

SELECTIONS: THE FORMULA ONE (4), LATIN BEATS (10), CHANG (2), SHERKHAN (1)
SUGGESTED BET: THE FORMULA ONE (4) to win

RACE FIVE

VILLAGE CRUISER (1) has faced the starter twice since returning from a spell starting from gates 5 and 8. Last start he couldn’t go with them when the sprint went on and he finished at the rear behind REAL KNUCKY. He does his best work from in front and from the gate he gets that chance.

BLACK BELT (7) has taken on some tougher events at AP at his last 2 starts when not disgraced behind ONE MANS PASS and ONLY IN ROME. His previous 2 starts here he run into the in-form NUI TOC TIEN and from this gate will get the cosy trip and look to take his shot when the gaps present.

ONE TO TANGO (8) will have the benefit of dropping down to the pegs here and with the economical trip look for a closing sprint to podium. From the pocket trail last start she didn’t get the run when needed and ended her chances and prior to that had been running in much stronger races at AP. She can feature here.

COUNTERFEIT CASH (4) has been well held here on the triangle at her past 2 starts and her 2 runs before that were both in mares band qualifiers where she wasn’t too far from the action behind ILIKEMILLIE and KASH. From this gate she can settle handy and with even luck can be in the finish.

SELECTIONS: VILLAGE CRUISER (1), BLACK BELT (7), ONE TO TANGO (8), COUNTERFEIT CASH (4)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-4-7-8

RACE SIX

THE AMERICAN DREAM (5) made his 1st run since joining the Jack Butler barn here last week and was chasing hard at the start to fill his position after making an error. Settling in the pocket trail he was forced to come around runners and worked to the line in good order behind the easy winner ROYAL COUNSEL. Moving to the front line will help and he is worth the chance.

TRENTLEIGH (1) started from gate 6 here 3 starts back and after settling a long way back in the run was making strong metres to get within 7m of the winner. He followed that with a good effort behind FUI FUI after being buried away on the pegs. He has good early speed and can put himself in the right spot.

ALTANA BLUE (6) finished of nicely here 3 starts back from a 2nd line gate and took the bronze when beaten 8m. His next 2 have been from 2nd line gates where he hasn’t really worked into the race behind MAGNUSSEN and then ROYAL COUNSEL. Settling in running line position, he can be sharper here.

CALCAVADO (7) will take good benefit from his latest start which was a 1st up effort since returning from a break. Settling from gate 5 he was back in the pack and making late metres when finishing 8m from the winner UNCLE JOHN. He had placed at his previous 2 starts and with a slice of luck from the gate won’t be far away again.

SELECTIONS:  THE AMERICAN DREAM (5), TRENTLEIGH (1), ALTANA BLUE (6), CALCAVADO (7)
SUGGESTED BET: THE AMERICAN DREAM (5) to win

RACE SEVEN

LAVROS SEGIL (3) took on a mobile event 3 starts back and after settling near the rear was attacking the line late to get within 1m of the winner SENITAS SUCCESS. Forget his next start when he made errors in the run, his latest start when 7m from TWICE AS MUCH had merit and he meets that runner 20m better off in this. This looks ideal.

TAIMATE SUCCESS (2) was the runner-up in successive events when beaten a nose and 3m and both behind DAENERYS STORMBORN. Her latest run under mobile conditions saw her working in the run which didn’t suit and she trailed off. With a safe beginning she will be in the frame in this.

CHEVALS RACER (6) started from a 40m impost last start and was working home in the closing stages to return a tidy effort when beaten 10m behind TWICE AS MUCH. That followed a good effort when only 4m from the airborne GIACOMO. Despite the big mark he must be considered in this.

ALL STAR ANGUS (8) started from 20m 2 starts back and was closing out the race in good order when finishing 9m from GIACOMO. His latest start from a 50m impost he never looked likely and was well beaten. Forgiven for the run and returning an effort like his win 3 starts back, he gets consideration here.

SELECTIONS: LAVROS SEGIL (3), TAIMATE SUCCESS (2), CHEVALS RACER (6), ALL STAR ANGUS (8)
