Trotting stalwart Our Overanova appears on-track to defend his DJ Alexander Memorial Trot Final this summer after recording a fourth win in five starts at Redcliffe on Saturday.

The rising nine-year-old notched career win 51 despite spotting his rivals 50m from the standing-start.

But he showed why he was crowned Queensland Trotter of the Year when rounding up stablemates Southern Alps and Mister Gunsen to win by 3.5m.

Our Overanova won a similar race at Albion Park almost one year ago to the day, before his runs were spaced leading into the DJ heats and final.

It was a rare Saturday night at Redcliffe with Dixon only landing the one winner.

Kylie Rasmussen and visiting horseman Craig Cross, who has his sights set on the Queensland Summer Carnival, both snared doubles.

Adam Sanderson continued his winning form following a successful Australian Driving Championship last week, steering his in-form mare Novena Rose to a 10th career win in the mares qualifying pace.
