RACE ONE

Making her race debut here last week, THE EMULATOR (2) was safely away and soon found herself in front when HOLD MY HAT DOUG jumped it off. Rolling along in front, she was having a look about and was only collared in the closing stages by YSMIR. With 7 seconds improvement from her qualifying trial to first start, the added experience will be a big factor.

HOLD MY HAT DOUG (3) has been rolled as the fav at his past two starts as he chases the maiden breaker after finishing as the runner-up in 3 of his 6 to date. Pressing on to take control last week, he lost balance and his chances expired when breaking gait. 1m from NELLIE JOY the start prior, can this be the day?

MISS MEMPHIS (4) has placed in 4 of her 6 attempts, missing the money here last week after striking trouble and having her day ended. Holding on for 3rd here two back after leading, manners will be vital.

SELECTIONS: THE EMULATOR (2), HOLD MY HAT DOUG (3), MISS MEMPHIS (4)
SUGGESTED BET: THE EMULATOR (2) to win

RACE TWO

After going through a bit of a flat spot in her campaign, the recent efforts of MAJESTIC SPEED (7) suggest that she is ready to recapture some winning form. Starting from the 10m last week, she found position and then angled back to the passing lane to be 5m in arrears. This looks the right set up for her to strike.

JUST CALL ME MOLLY (1) showed nice manners from the tapes last week and loomed to the leader but was denied for the lamp lighting duties and obliged to sit parked as a result. Putting the leader away, she was game to the line, only fading late when the swoopers arrived. She can challenge.

THE REAPER (10) is better suited when he can be up near the speed and will need to defy the 30m tape in this battle to continue his good form. Runner-up last start from the mobile, he has claims.

SONETTO (2) was safely into stride before finding the 1x1 trail last start and then was chasing gamely to finish just behind the placings. Settling handy to the action will aid her chances here.

SELECTIONS: MAJESTIC SPEED (7), JUST CALL ME MOLLY (1), THE REAPER (10), SONETTO (2)
SUGGESTED BET: MAJESTIC SPEED (7) to win

RACE THREE

A return to this grade of opponent should appeal to JUDGE JUJON (3) after a nice effort last start behind the progressive LEITHEN BURN when holding 2nd through a strong closing half. Holding on for the bronze behind the talented SWEETPASSSION two starts back, he finds suitable conditions here.

BORSELLINNO (5) showed hustle off the arm last start at Redcliffe to find the front from gate 4. With a steady opening half, he tried to pinch it through a strong closing half but could not see it out in settling for 3rd. Too far back over the 2138m here two starts ago, he looks up to a race like this.

BETTYS GOLD CLASS (1) resumes from a spell after her last appearance came in the Breeders Classic when down the line behind RACY ROXY. With a tidy trial to prepare, she can feature fresh.

SOHO CASABLANCA (9) has had his runs spaced and been a race day scratching on a couple of occasions recently. Asked to work hard when parked last start, an easier trip here will help.

SELECTIONS: JUDGE JUJON (3), BORSELLINNO (5), BETTYS GOLD CLASS (1), SOHO CASABLANCA (9)
SUGGESTED BET: JUDGE JUJON (3) to win

RACE FOUR

Finding space to drop down to the marker poles last start, LEANDER (2) was shuffled to three back when positions were sorted. With FUTURE ASSURED putting the race away at the 300m point, she lost all her momentum behind a tiring runner. With early speed, this looks well within reach.

KORLOFF NOIR (1) was taken to Redcliffe three starts back and found a suitable maiden contest to open her account, third up since crossing the Tasman. Placed in both runs since the victory, she was making some late metres last week behind FUTURE ASSURED. With options, she can challenge.

VINDICATE (8) is a newcomer to the Narissa McMullen stable and arrives as a five-time winner. With recent form in Sth Australia, a local trial here was a tidy effort with the trailing draw helping first up.

MISTER REACTOR (4) was sent forward here last start and pressing on was able to take control and had them rolling in front. Holding on for the silver behind FUTURE ASSURED, he can feature again.

SELECTIONS: LEANDER (2), KORLOFF NOIR (1), VINDICATE (8), MISTER REACTOR (4)
SUGGESTED BET: LEANDER (2),

RACE FIVE

A tricky race to dissect here made no easier by the 2138m trip where many of these do not have the greatest numbers. CAPTAIN BRAVEHEART (1) should get his opportunity from this gate despite this being just the second time in his career he gets out beyond 2000m. An easy first up winner at Redcliffe last start when debuting for the Sallis stable, the gate is a huge help.

DEVOUGED (7) has worked his way into some nice form, claiming wins in 3 of his past 4 starts and will chase down the hat-trick here. Finding the 1x1 trail from the second line last start at Redcliffe, he arrived in the closing strides to take the win. That followed victory at the 2040m, and he can make a challenge despite the tough gate here.

SHESA POCKETROCKET (9) was building towards a victory after finishing as the runner-up on three successive occasions. Finding the right set up last week, she swept home to score and can chime in again here.

LANCELOT BROMAC (6) eased from gate 5 on Friday and was making some nice metres in the closing stages to get within a half-neck of the winner. Claiming the prize two starts back, he will be winding up.

SELECTIONS: CAPTAIN BRAVEHEART (1), DEVOUGED (7), SHESA POCKETROCKET (9), LANCELOT BROMAC (6)
SUGGESTED BET: CAPTAIN BRAVEHEART (1) to win

RACE SIX

Striping fitter following his first up success, FUTURE ASSURED (5) moves one gate closer than his return effort where he powered home over the top. Easing early before making a powerful finishing burst to pull clear to a 17m margin, it was a mighty impressive return to kick off his 3YO term. The repeat performance looks achievable.

HES PERFECTLY IDEAL (9) was strong to the line last start after retreating from gate 7 to sit rearward and then make a wide and searching run behind FUTURE ASSURED. A tough 3rd two runs back, he again cops a stiff gate and will be wide again, likely chasing the same horse as last time.

PARTY POLOTIX (1) was hemmed away from inside the second line at Redcliffe last start and was probing up the passing lane to grab the bronze. With a cosy trip, she can fill a minor.

MAYWYN TROUBADOR (6) was beaten by the inside second line last start where he was buried in the run. At his best up on the speed, he grafted it out when parked two back and get forward to feature.

SELECTIONS: FUTURE ASSURED (5), HES PERFECTLY IDEAL (9), PARTY POLOTIX (1), MAYWYN TROUBADOR (6)
SUGGESTED BET: FUTURE ASSURED (5) to win

RACE EIGHT

Plenty of experience and speed off this front line with the run to the first turn likely to set the tone for the contest. KEY LARGO (7) has the wider gate but that might help his chances of shanghaiing across to take control. Making nice metres over his less-preferred 2138m last start, he found the front from this gate three runs back, when holding 2nd- also at the 2138m.

JUST ROKIN (9) has finished with the silver at her past two starts, the latest when finding the pocket trail from gate 4 and finishing best of the rest behind MISTERFREEZE. Just 2m in arrears of the winner two starts back, she can get the right trail here to again be firing a closing shot.

PARAVANI (5) released the speed last start from gate 1 and from the trail could only manage a midfield return behind subsequent winner BALLERINI. He will be pressing forward to feature.

THE SHADY ONE (2) will appreciate moving into gate 1, his latest start from this gate when grabbing 3rd after finishing 4m from the winner WARFARE. With the easy trip, he will be probing.

SELECTIONS: KEY LARGO (7), JUST ROKIN (9), PARAVANI (5), THE SHADY ONE (2)
SUGGESTED BET: KEY LARGO (7) to win
