Trainer Lindsay Hatch believes promising apprentice Kyle Wilson-Taylor is looking a strong chance of landing another swag of winners at Dalby on Tuesday.

Wilson-Taylor has bagged two hauls of four winners at Toowoomba over the past two Saturdays and has another strong book of four rides at Dalby.

The former Northern Rivers apprentice is on loan for three months to Hatch but is expected to seek a permanent move to the Toowoomba trainer.

Hatch also has another promising apprentice in his stable – Angela Jones – who joined him two months ago and also has four Dalby rides.

“Angela’s only just started about two months ago and she’s ridden a winner at every track she’s been on,” Hatch said.

“Kyle’s got another good book of four rides and three are my horses.

“He’s very promising and was recommended to me by Sky Racing’s Gary Kliese.

“He told me about him eight months ago before COVID-19 hit which meant he couldn’t move north until all the restrictions were lifted.

Kyle actually rode five winners on Saturday; he rode a winner at the Gold Coast then came up to Toowoomba and rode another four.

Wilson-Taylor’s three rides for Hatch are Single Rise in the Maiden Handicap (1100m), Beltana in the Maiden Handicap (800m) and Wolff Boss in the Class Two Handicap (1200m).

His other ride is on the Lynda Powell-trained Gotta Be First in the Benchmark 58 Handicap (1200m).

Single Rise is coming off a last start fifth in an 870-metre Toowoomba Maiden on October 31 while Beltana finished fifth on debut in a similar maiden the same night at Toowoomba.

“Single Rise’s first up run was very good and he was only beaten less than five lengths,” Hatch said.

“He’s gone on from that and should be hard to beat.

“Beltana’s first-up run was only passable but he’s also improved and this looks a more suitable race for him.

“Wolff Boss’s runs have been good but he didn’t cope backing up last start so I’m expecting him to go a lot better this time.”

Wolff Boss - a former Victorian - won his first start for Hatch at Warwick on October 10 before finishing second in an 1100-metre Class Two at Beaudesert on October 31.

The Street Boss gelding then weakened to beat two home behind Red Monkey in a 1200-metre Benchmark race at Toowoomba a week later.
