RACE ONE

Returning for another Qld Winter ROCKIN MARTY (10) has spun around Albion Park on three occasions, hitting the board in all three, including a placing in the Blacks A Fake last year. Gate 10 was his undoing last start at Menangle in the Golden Mile and finding a race here where there looks some good tempo, he can descend.

MAJOR JELLIS (6) is now 2 from 2 on this deck, with both wins at the mile when sent forward to find the front on each occasion. Sent out deep into the red last start, he took control from gate 4 and was never in danger, making it a big ask for those chasing with a 26.9 third panel. He will throw it down.

TOMMY LINCOLN (1) tried to take them all the way in Open company here four starts back and leading deep into the stretch over the 2138m, it was only TURN IT UP to get past. Nothing has suited in the three runs since and back to this gate is a huge plus.

CRIME WRITER (4) should appreciate the return to mobile conditions after tackling the tapes at Redcliffe at his past two starts. Finishing midfield in the Redcliffe Cup last time, he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: ROCKIN MARTY (10), MAJOR JELLIS (6), TOMMY LINCOLN (1), CRIME WRITER (4)
SUGGESTED BET: ROCKIN MARTY (10) each-way

RACE TWO

This looks an open affair made no easier by many of these showing limited winning exposure at the middle trip. ONE BIG SHEW (11) powered over the top to score a midweek victory here two starts back at this trip and followed that with a half-head margin via the passing lane. He can arrive.

TRIPLE FOUR (7) is a lightly raced 4YO that arrives from NSW with a stylish win over the Menangle mile at his last start where he was resuming from a spell with his first 4YO run. Tightened from that, he gets no favours from the outside paint but finds an open qualifier and will just need a Hollywood special from the 7.

JENDEN STRIKE (1) loves the middle trip and from gate 1 will be hustling hard to protect the inside running. Bouncing back to winning form here two starts back, she is right in the fight.

WINONA WRITER (3) resumes from a spell, after being sent for a break after making an error at her last start back in April. Runner-up in the Riverina Mares G1 Championship two starts back, she has a smart record and has trialled soundly in readiness.

SELECTIONS: ONE BIG SHEW (11), TRIPLE FOUR (7), JENDEN STRIKE (1), WINONA WRITER (3)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

ARTILLERY (9)
made his first appearance in Qld three runs back when sent to sit parked and after a tough trip was just behind the winner HEMSWORTH. Too strong at his next start from gate 7 and ripping home a slick closing panel, he was just a half-neck away in the Patrons Purse behind MANILA PLAYBOY and looks to get the right trip.

DELIGHTFUL DUDE (7) overcame gate 6 last time out when sent forward to sit parked and grafting it out was able to prevail in a close battle. First up from a spell in that contest, he can strip fitter from the outing and can look to overcome the gate impediment to challenge.

WATTS UP SUNSHINE (3) tackled the Redcliffe Cup consolation last time out from the tapes when finishing 3m in arrears of ANOTHER STATEMENT. With mixed numbers of late, he can be thereabouts once again.

LAMANDIER (10) made the most of a good alley last start at Redcliffe when first up from a freshen. Finding the front, he was able to fight off the challengers to take a 3m margin. The gate makes it tough.

SELECTIONS: ARTILLERY (9), DELIGHTFUL DUDE (7), WATTS UP SUNSHINE (3), LAMANDIER (10)
SUGGESTED BET: ARTILLERY (9) to win

RACE FOUR

Given zero favours from outside the front line, JERADAS DELIGHT (7) will strip fitter following her return from a spell in last week’s Redcliffe mare’s feature. Best of the chasers behind THE HONEY QUEEN at Redcliffe when facing the wide gate, she can capitalise on the class edge she holds over her rivals to defy the gate.

SOHO ALMASI (4) was beaten first up from a spell when setting the speed from gate 1 as a long odds-on favourite, grabbed up the passing lane. A second line gate stung at her second up run and with the lack of a smooth passage missed the minors. This looks her chance to bounce back.

BALLERINI (6) was a big winner here two starts back when sent forward from a wide gate and contest to roll the sleeves and do the tough stuff first over, claimed a dominant win. Buried last start at Redcliffe, she has claims in this.

CHEESANDKISSES (1) secured the 1x1 trail last start and owned the closing speed to claim a Redcliffe victory. At her best with one closing shot, she will be searching for a gap to charge home.

SELECTIONS: JERADAS DELIGHT (7), SOHO ALMASI (4), BALLERINI (6) CHEESANDKISSES (1)
SUGGESTED BET: JERADAS DELIGHT (7) to win

RACE FIVE

Arriving in Qld with the visiting Brad Hewitt team, RONALDO (1) has been unable to score in four attempts this season. With added fitness now that he has had three runs back from a break, the latest effort was full of merit when sitting parked and narrowly beaten in a track record at Young.

BOMBADIER JUJON (4) was beaten by the second line last start when settling in the running line and chasing in vain as ALBY TWO CHAINS put them away. Just 2m away here two starts back behind DELIGHTFUL DUE, he will need some factors in his favour, but this looks within reach.

CAPTAIN NEMO (8) should drive benefit from his last start where he was first up in seven weeks and left flat when ALBY TWO CHAINS dialled it up to pull clear. With a soft trip, he can join in.

SO BOBS YOUR UNCLE (5) faces a stiff ask from this gate where it does not really work to his best pattern, but he is never too far away and if the tempo suits, he can chime in late to grab a minor.

SELECTIONS: RONALDO (1), BOMBADIER JUJON (4), CAPTAIN NEMO (8), SO BOBS YOUR UNCLE (5)
SUGGESTED BET: RONALDO (1) to win

RACE SIX

Taking great benefit from his return to racing here a fortnight ago, SPIRIT OF ST LOUIS (5) can look to build into his campaign as he heads towards the big G1 features around the corner. Content to takt the trail first up, he was angled out of the trail and arrived on the wire. 4 from 6 on this deck, he can look to add another to the tally.

A GS WHITE SOCKS (11) has joined the McCarthy stable and will step out here at The Creek for the first time. Last seen in the Auckland Cup when 4th to SELF ASSURED, the start prior he was beaten an eyelash in the G2 Flying Mile at Cambridge. Winning from outside the second line is a huge ask.

BLACKSADANCE (9) is the track record holder at this trip and last start nearly pulled off the upset when only grabbed in the closing strides by SPIRIT OF ST LOUIS over the long trip. With the right trail, he can make a closing play.

NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (3) raced on the poles in the Redcliffe Cup and following the shortest way home was able to grab 2nd behind SEBS CHOICE. Firing some early bullets, he can make a play.

SELECTIONS: SPIRIT OF ST LOUIS (5), A GS WHITE SOCKS (11), BLACKSADANCE (9), NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (3)
SUGGESTED BET: SPIRIT OF ST LOUIS (5) to win

RACE EIGHT

A cracking field has been assembled for this inaugural Queensland Sun with the early map a tough chart to dissect. SUMOMENTSOMEWHERE (12) will not be involved in any of the early speed and has been in super form this season, winning 7 of 9. Dealt a stiff gate in the Patrons Purse but finishing off nicely, he will need the tempo on here to climb over the top.

TIMS A TROOPER (1) sat off the speed in the Redcliffe Derby and saved for the closing shot, loomed strongly and pulled clear and then held off DANGERZONE in the closing stages. Runner-up to AMORE VITA the start prior, he has a good record off speed and with the right trip can be coiled and ready to strike.

MANILA PLAYBOY (4) was big in victory at Redcliffe last time out in the Patrons Purse when sitting parked over the 2280m trip and claiming a dominant first over victory. Sectionally superb in all three runs prior, he looms large.

HEMSWORTH (6) was looking to make the closing play in the stretch at Redcliffe last start when holding 3rd behind MANILA PLAYBOY. Forced to change direction which may have cost some momentum, he is right in the mix here.

SELECTIONS: SUMOMENTSOMEWHERE (12), TIMS A TROOPER (1), MANILA PLAYBOY (4), HEMSWORTH (6)
SUGGESTED BET: SUMOMENTSOMEWHERE (12) each-way

RACE NINE

Yet to taste defeat following three starts since arriving in Qld, GLOBAL FLIGHT (1) looks well placed to continue on his winning way and sweep both his heats. Hemmed away four back on the poles in the first round, the gap opened, and he charged home to score and can step up and go again.

DOFF YOUR CAP (10) completed a hat-trick of victories when his first Qld appearance was a stylish victory here last week. Safely away and into the running line, he was able to finish over the top of them with some smart closing panels to take a 3m victory. Back to the middle trip is tougher but he can still throw it down.

RILEY MOMENT (4) pressed on to the front in the first-round heat and looked to be doing it comfortably until approaching the 400m, she started to fade. Back to the 2138m will help here.

SIR FAHRENHEIT (9) made an error in his first-round heat which put him out of contention. Needing a big result to maximise points to make the Final, he can turn it around with an improved return.

SELECTIONS: GLOBAL FLIGHT (1), DOFF YOUR CAP (10), RILEY MOMENT (4), SIR FAHRENHEIT (9)
SUGGESTED BET: GLOBAL FLIGHT (1) to win

RACE TEN

Just the small field of four to do battle here where the dual Group 1 winning filly JEWEL MELODY (3) can look for immediate impact here in the Sunshine State. Scoring a dominant 21m victory last start in an APG Final, she decimated the cobwebs in blowing them out in a trial on this track to prepare and looks too classy.

SMIRKS LIKA BOSS (4) was resuming from a spell here last week when tackling the older horses and putting them away in smart fashion. Sent straight to the front and doing it easily with a 20m margin to spare, he has now won 3 of his 4 career starts and the small field will help his challenging chances.

HOLD ONTO YA BLING (5) was enormous in defeat in his last appearance in the Redcliffe Sales Final. Put out of play in a scrimmage in the early stages, it was a mammoth effort to grab 3rd and he is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: JEWEL MELODY (3), SMIRKS LIKA BOSS (4), HOLD ONTO YA BLING (5)
SUGGESTED BET: JEWEL MELODY (3) to win

RACE ELEVEN

Tackling the Redcliffe Cup two runs back when first up from a spell, LOTAMUSCLE (9) was wide off the track and found the line in nice style behind MAJESTIC HARRY. Sent to sit parked last start, he was in for the fight when holding on for the silver behind GLOBAL FLIGHT. He can breakthrough.

MAJESTIC HARRY (7) claimed the Redcliffe Trotters Cup two runs back when stepping straight to the front and taking the all the way. Rolling ahead to sit parked in his first-round heat, he was grafting it out in holding on for 2nd, finishing 3m from the winner DOFF YOUR CAP. He can make the challenge.

RED CASTLETON (10) could not warm up here last week and was down the line behind DOFF YPUR CAP. Fitter for that outing where he was first up from a spell, he needs big points in this to progress.

SOBOMBA (3) was safely into stride here last week at the 2647m trip and from the front was nearly able to see it out, finishing 4m in deficit. A mobile winner at this distance four back, he can feature.

SELECTIONS: LOTAMUSCLE (9), MAJESTIC HARRY (7), RED CASTLETON (10), SOBOMBA (3)
SUGGESTED BET: LOTAMUSCLE (9) to win
