Vivid Imagination  Forced to steady to avoid heels of another runner near the 200m and laid in from that point. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, rider B. Charmor  Bumped on the hindquarter and unbalanced shortly after the start. When questioned regarding the performance of the mare jockey J. Lloyd stated
that his mount began fairly however was unable to muster sufficient early speed to obtain a forward position and consequently was caught in a handy position three wide throughout the early and middle stages. J. Lloyd added that his mount
went to the line in a fair manner and in his opinion would appreciate a step up in
distance. A post race veterinary examination of the mare did not reveal any abnormality.

Master Kwila  Shortly after the start was hampered when buffeted between runners. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding, which was beaten
20.5L, revealed it to be mildly lame in the near hind leg. Trainer Mr S Golinski was advised that a warning would be placed on the racing record of the gelding for being uncompetitive and further advised that a veterinary clearance must be
provided for Master Kwila, prior to its next start.
