Pippos  After being held up in traffic, underwent a veterinary examination and cleared to take its place in the field. Slow to begin. Stewards asked apprentice C. Dell to comment on the performance. He indicated that the horse was slow to begin and he was forced to ride his mount further back in the field than he would have liked and was also obliged to pressure the horse from the 700m and despite this the horse responded to his riding over the final 300m and was doing its best work over the concluding stages. You Say No Way  Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped another runner. Raced ungenerously from the 800m and shifted wider on the track, then approaching the 600m shifted out forcing ADJOURNED wider on the track. Dazzling Shiraz  Rider advised she obtained a good positon throughout the event and travelled comfortably, however when placed under pressure failed to respond to her riding and proved disappointing. Trainer advised that in light of tonight's performance the gelding would be spelled immediately.

Sirocan  At the request of jockey Goltz, a post race veterinary examination was undertaken where no abnormalities were detected. Trainer R. Smith advised that in light of jockey Goltz's report following the event, she would now have her veterinary surgeon undertake a full veterinary examination of the horse in the days subsequent to the event, the results of which she will report to stewards.

He said the horse was under pressure from after the 700m and unable to hold its position. Trainer L.
