Cast its off-hind plate during the event. A post-race veterinary examination found the gelding to be mildly lame in the off-hind leg. Trainer D. Bougoure was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the AAZAREACH being permitted to race again.

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of the gelding, rider stated that his mount made respiratory noises during the race and weakened in the run to the line. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnormality. Stable representative was told that the stable would be required to provide the satisfactory results of a dynamic endoscopic examination and further that the gelding would be required to barrier trial, prior to being permitted to race again.

When qst, rdr std as instructed he allowed mnt to roll forward in early stages, but nearing winning post on first occasion was left racing three wide w/out cover outside the leaders. When qst re opportunity to roll forward into lead earlier, rdr std pace in early stages was solid & when other rnrs to his inside maintained their positions, he was left racing three wide until leaving the 1600m, when allowing mnt to improve forward to lead, however had to make some use of it to do so. Std mnt quickly came under pressure at the 600m & it weakened from that point. A post race vet exam rev no abs.
