When questioned in regards to the performance of the gelding, apprentice E. Cass stated that after beginning only fairly, she was forced to settle back further than anticipated. She added that once the gelding had settled it then had a tendency to hang out, resented the kick back and did not respond to her riding over the concluding stages of the event. Trainer R. Frazer advised stewards that the gelding may not have handled the track conditions in today's event and that he would report to stewards if anything should arise in the coming days. Post race vet exam revealed no abnormalities. |

Morton stated that her mount was second up from a significant spell and when she pressured the gelding near the 500m he failed to respond and proved disappointing. She further added that Talking Nonsense would benefit from today's event.
