After beginning fairly and despite efforts, failed to show sufficient speed to take up forward position. Elected to obtain cover further back than anticipated. Added that the gelding was not entirely comfortable throughout and proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the lame near fore fetlock. Connections advised veterinary clearance required.
