Byrne indicated that when placed under pressure between runners in the home straight the gelding was reluctant to improve and it was not until being shifted wider passing the 200m when the horse commenced to respond to his riding. Rock the Pac  Trainer questioned re improved performance of the gelding compared to its last start at Doomben on 26 September 2015. Sting  After being loaded into the barrier stalls, became fractious and reared, resulting in its bridle being dislodged. The gelding underwent veterinary examination behind the barriers and was passed fit to start.
