Underwent a veterinary examination behind the barriers which cleared the mare suitable to race. Trainer T. Cotsiopoulos was advised that a warning would be placed on the mare's pre race manners. Havana Cigar  When asked to comment on the performance jockey N. Day stated that the gelding was not suited by the slow tempo of today's race. Jockey Day stated that in hindsight he should have pushed forward leaving the 1000m when the pace slowed in an effort to maintain a position to the inside of MAGNETIC STAR when that runner improved forward in a 3 wide position. Jockey Day added that as a consequence the gelding was left flatfooted when the tempo increased leaving the 600m.  Gold Coast  3/10/2015

Unbowed  When questioned regarding the riding tactics adopted today which were in contrast to the gelding's most recent start when it led, apprentice Fancourt stated she had similar instructions today as she had in previous starts, which was to obtain cover, however the circumstances of the race at its last resulted in the horse obtaining the lead.
