Had to be steadied away from heels after leaving the 300m. K. Wharton reported at scale that he was of the opinion that his mount was shin sore. Orman stated that after being obliged to race 3 wide throughout the event the filly failed to quicken as expected and, in his opinion, raced flat today and was somewhat disappointing. Feltre  Buffeted by another runner when placed in restricted room between runners after passing the 400m. When asked to comment on the performance, jockey R. Wiggins advised stewards he felt the overall performance was disappointing and indicated he had recommended to connections to send the horse for a spell. Trainer L. Tipper confirmed her intention to send the horse for a spell.

When questioned regarding the horse's improved performance, trainer's representative advised that the gelding was dropping in class from its last start at Doomben and appreciated the fast tempo of today's race. Sir Moments  When questioned, P. Hammersley stated that when the tempo of the race quickened near the 600m, his mount was flat-footed, which he attributed to the 61kg weight impost.
