| Blue Desert Moon | Jumped away awkwardly and then bumped shortly after the start. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse had sprung its near fore plate and had speedy cuts to its near hind leg. Trainer T. Sears indicated he would have his own veterinary surgeon perform tests on the horse and that he would report back any findings to the stewards. | Drumbeat's Choice | Apprentice S. Eilbeck advised that the gelding travelled well, however when asked for an effort after passing the 400m proved disappointing and weakened. Trainer T. Bourke reported that veterinary tests performed on Drumbeat's Choice subsequent to this race found the horse to be showing signs of a virus and had undergone treatment. He advised stewards he would have the results of blood tests provided prior to its next start to clear the horse to race. |

Stewards found that approaching the 100m, Passionflower shifted out making contact with Invitations, resulting in that runner being taken off its line and bearing in mind the margin of a nose, the Stewards were comfortably satisfied that had the interference not occurred, Passionflower would not have finished in front of Invitations and therefore the objection was upheld. |
