Jerusalem  | jockey D. Griffin indicated from the wide barrier he was obliged to position the gelding at the tail of the field and as the horse races over longer distances it was doing its best work over the concluding stages and would benefit from a step up in distance. He indicated he had been held up for clear running from the 600m to the 400m and after being afforded clear running laid in under pressure and was also inconvenienced near the 300m. Raffinato  | Raced 3 wide for the majority of the event. After passing the 800m the mare was not responding to her riding and failed to travel comfortably at any stage of the event and proved disappointing. App Denby was of the opinion that the mare was not comfortable on today's track conditions. A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be displaying a cough and a nasal discharge. Trainer reported horse pulled up well and agreed may not have been comfortable in conditions. Believed it would be better suited over further ground when able to settle closer to the lead.   |
