Trainer R. Hurley agreed horse had to work hard to maintain the lead in early stages and confirmed instructed rider to remain to the inside in the home straight.

Facoory to lead and that he complied with those instructions, positioning in front near the 900m, and that from the 500m he attempted to place some pressure on the gelding in an endeavour to increase the tempo and hopefully gain a break on the rest of the field.
