When qst re riding early stgs rdr std issued no spec instr to lead but was inst to ensure mount was able to travel through heavy going. Added when another jumped well to outside & was forced fwd when another held its pos to inside, allowed it to cross his mount rather than contest lead so was able to assist his mount to travel through heavy going. Further std once crossed imp to outside of that runner, where he travelled at its girth throughout early stages.

Held up early stages of the home straight. Jockey reported instructions were to settle mare where comfortable in the run. Bearing in mind instructions he was reluctant to ride mare forward to maintain a position outside SAVOUREUX soon after the start. As a result settled behind SAVOUREUX and due to strong tempo in early stages mare settled towards rear of field. Post race vet revealed cast off fore plate which caused a puncture wound in that foot along with a laceration to off hind cannon
