Jockey D. Browne was asked to comment on the performance of the horse. He indicted the pace of the race did not suit the gelding and when asked for an effort his mount did not respond and proved very disappointing in the run to the line. Trainer G. Duncan advised he would now consider sending the horse for a spell and would advised stewards of any abnormality that becomes apparent. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Mr Duncan indicated that no abnormalities were found though the horse would be sent for a short spell.
