Trainer T. Edmonds confirmed the instructions to ride the gelding quietly. Mr Edmonds was advised that should these instructions change, he would be expected to notify the stewards of a change of tactics.

A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

When asked to comment on the performance of the horse, jockey J. Orman indicated that from the wide alley he had been instructed to obtain cover and therefore he took hold from the barriers, and whilst he settled 3 wide was satisfied with the cover he had obtained. He then indicated he was able to improve into the race after passing the 600m and was very satisfied with the horse’s finishing effort. Jockey Orman was of the opinion that the horse’s performance was significantly affected by the slow tempo set throughout the event.
