Legadema Slow to begin. J. Lloyd was questioned regarding his tactics on the gelding. He stated that, having its first for the stable, he had been instructed to ride the gelding quietly from its wide barrier and settled at the rear of the field, however he was disappointed with the way the gelding finished the race off, adding that it was inclined to lay in under pressure. Trainer T. Edmonds confirmed the instructions to ride the gelding quietly. Mr Edmonds was advised that should these instructions change, he would be expected to notify the stewards of a change of tactics. Doomben 08/07/2017

Temujin's Queen Stewards questioned apprentice N. Keal as to whether there was an opportunity for him to go forward near the 800m and cross runners to his inside. N. Keal stated that in order to do so he would have to make too much use of his mount in the early stages of the event particularly bearing in mind the 60kg weight impost the horse was carrying therefore elected to take cover. I Feel Good When questioned, J. Lloyd stated that the gelding appreciates racing inside other runners and when the pace was only slow in the middle stages he elected to improve to the outside and press forward, however after being brushed by BRILLIANT JET near the 500m, his mount lost concentration and failed to respond to his riding from that point. Lascar When asked to comment on the performance of the horse, jockey J. Orman indicated that from the wide alley he had been instructed to obtain cover and therefore he took hold from the barriers, and whilst he settled 3 wide was satisfied with the cover he had obtained. He then indicated he was able to improve into the race after passing the 600m and was very satisfied with the horse’s finishing effort. Jockey Orman was of the opinion that the horse’s performance was significantly affected by the slow tempo set throughout the event. Sunshine Coast 15/07/2017

Oxford Poet Rdr std mount was able to obt pos outside leader early stgs & although it trav comf was disap that geld did not respond when placed under pressure. Further std near 200m, when rnr imp to outside & then racing restr room, commenced to give ground. A post race vet exam rev gelding to have lost off-fore plate. Trn std geld 2nd up perf had been consistent, how was disap with manner it weakened. Trn since reported was satisfied with post race condition & intention to continue with its prep. Eight's a Party Bumped by another runner passing the 400m. Jockey D. Browne was asked to comment on the performance. He indicated that as the horse was returning from a brief spell it will derive fitness benefit from the event. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be slightly sore in both forelegs. Trainer reported that the horse has pulled up well subsequent to the event. Sunshine Coast 15/07/2017
Dee Nine Elle Presented in the enclosure without its blinkers, but with winkers. This was not an advertised gear change. Instructions to the starter were to remove the winkers and add blinkers, which the mare raced in, as per its previous start. Raced wide without cover. Doomben 08/07/2017
