Due to traffic delays was late to arrive on course, underwent a vet exam & passed fit to start. Passing the 800m had to be steadied when crowded between runners. A short distance later then raced in restricted room to the inside of another runner. Rdr std mount got a little further back than intended & after receiving crowding in the middle stages, did not finish the race off as expected. Added in his view the geld was not totally comf on today's rain affected going.

Apprentice M. Murphy reported that his mount travelled strongly throughout when racing in the box seat. He added that when asked to improve into the race from the 400m the gelding failed to accelerate as he had expected and, in his opinion, was disappointing over the concluding stages. Trainer B. Currie expressed disappointment in the gelding’s finishing performance today. He added that, in light of this performance, he will now review the horse’s current preparation, and may consider sending it for a spell. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
