M. Cahill was questioned regarding his riding of EL SASSO in the early stages. He stated that he was instructed by the Snowdens to attempt to get cover and he did that immediately after leaving the barriers. He added that EL SASSO, when being steadied, was inclined to overrace and after leaving the 1000m was inconvenienced by ELLAWISDOM, which shifted out to his inside, resulting in his mount being forced wider. He further added that he believed that in the early stages of the straight he felt his mount was better suited improving to the inside as he was of the opinion that today's racing suit

Kimmet explained that at its last start the mare was in season and raced wide in the early and middle stages before weakening badly over the final 400m, which he attributed to ROUND MOUNTAIN GEM being in season. Lloyd stated that he rode his mount with vigour in an effort to obtain a forward position however his mount was unable to muster sufficient speed to cross the field and raced three wide, with cover. J. Lloyd stated that his mount made an awkward stride near the 600m. He said that approaching the home turn his mount commenced to give ground, and he eased it out of the event as he was concerned something may be amiss. A post race vet examination did not reveal any abnormality. Trainer was advised that a warning would be placed on the performance and that it requires a vet clearance.
