Oliver pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding, in that near the 1100m he allowed his mount to shift in when not fully clear of CORNROW, which was taken in on to RELAMPAGO, which was in turn taken in on to CAMOUFLAGE, which had to be eased by its rider and shift in, resulting in FRENCH HUSSLER being checked. Apprentice Oliver was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 12 days, to commence at midnight, 31 December and to expire at midnight, 12 January 2017.

He indicated that after travelling well in a favourable position behind the lead, the horse did not let down as expected in the home straight. He felt this could be attributed to the horse having its second start this preparation and carrying 59.5 kilograms on a rain-affected track. He indicated that in the circumstances he was not entirely disappointed with the overall performance. A post race veterinary examination indicated that the horse had a slower than normal post-race recovery. A swab sample was taken.

He added that after complying with these instructions the mare finished the race off strongly and also stated that as the mare steps up in distance, he would expect it to be settling in a position closer to the lead.

A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. A swab sample was taken.
