Jockey Lloyd was at a loss to explain the disappointing performance. Trainer T. Edmonds noted that the mare may be better suited when ridden with cover. A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be displaying a slow post race recovery.

Browne indicated that after being slightly held up on the home turn when trying to give himself more room he saw the opportunity to improve on the inside of TVERSKY, which had shifted out. He pressured the horse from the 400m and the horse responded and his intention was to improve to the inside of CASH’N’RUN. He indicated approaching the 300m that the run commenced to close and he was obliged to shift out and attempt a run to the outside of SHE’S SO MEAN.
