Endless Don Protested against winner, dismissed. Attempted to secure a position between runners leaving the 500m where there was doubtful room, made contact with a runner and buffeted with that runner and was then checked a short distance later. Sunshine Coast 24/02/2017

Hi I'm Back Rider reported at scale that it was not his intention to settle outside the leader but after beginning well and racing wide in early stages elected to allow his mount to stride forward. Eagle Farm 18/02/2017
Manaya Jockey D. Browne indicated it had been his intention to trail FRENCH JET, however when the horse commenced to steady in the early stages he elected to allow his mount to stride forward and obtained the position outside the lead comfortably. He indicated he felt the horse was travelling strongly entering the home straight, however weakened when asked for an effort passing the 300m. Jockey Browne added the filly sweated up badly prior to the race and was slightly distressed post race. A post race veterinary examination found the horse to have a poor post race recovery. La Cigale Rider reported at scale it was not her intention to lead today however, after beginning well and being obliged to race wide she elected to allow the horse to stride forward to obtain the lead near the 1000m. Eagle Farm 18/02/2017

Divine Service Rider questioned re tactics early stages - explained instructed to ride the horse with a sit today as UPSTART PRIDE and ROCKY KING were natural leaders and the gelding would not have enough speed to go with those horses. Added he rode mount in a similar manner to when it won last start. Further added in his opinion the gelding did not travel as comfortably today as it had at its most recent start. Daph 'n' Alf When questioned regarding the performance Apprentice stated that his instructions were to take up a forward position, and after beginning well was able attain the lead comfortably and therefore was reluctant to restrain his mount. Stewards noted the explanation. Mackay 31/01/2017
Dream Finnish Raced wide throughout and near the 800m was eased out of the event. Jockey J. Lloyd reported that with the slow pace the mare travelled reasonably well, however he felt something was amiss with its action approaching the 800m and as a result he eased it out of the race. A post-race veterinary examination reveal the horse was suffering from cardiac arrhythmia. Connections were advised that the horse must undergo an ECG, and also must trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start. Doomben 17/12/2016

Emerald City When questioned, apprentice J. Oliver reported that the race was not run to suit the gelding as it appreciates sitting just off the pace and then being able to sprint in the straight. He added it was under pressure from the 600m. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities and a swab sample was taken Eagle Farm 03/12/2016
Guest of Honour Permission was granted for the gelding to race without a bubble cheeker today. Bumped shortly after the start. Eagle Farm 04/02/2017
Hudson County Held up rounding the home turn. Vetted - lost an off fore plate and was found to be foot sore in the off fore post race. Vet certificate required. Doomben 25/02/2017
Craiglea Deken Bumped on jumping. Bumped near the 1100m by another runner. After leaving the 400m had to be checked away from heels. Approaching the 200m had to be steadied away from heels when disappointed for a run. Doomben 25/02/2017

Brazen Moss Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and upon straightening had to alter course to the inside of DARCIWOOD in order to improve. Eagle Farm 18/02/2017

Passionflower Jockey J. Orman reported at scale it was not his intention to race as forward as he did, however when caught wide in the early stages he elected to push forward. Doomben 11/02/2017
Uno Best Knuckled on jumping away. When questioned regarding his riding of the horse, apprentice M. Murphy stated he had been instructed by trainer P. Facoory to lead and that he complied with those instructions, positioning in front near the 900m, and that from the 500m he attempted to place some pressure on the gelding in an endeavour to increase the tempo and hopefully gain a break on the rest of the field. He said he rode it similarly to what he did at the Gold Coast on 31 December when it won on that occasion. When questioned, trainer P.
