Orman reported it was his intention to settled handy on the filly however after ROTHABYE surrendered the lead approaching the 900m, his filly then settled further back than he had intended and overraced with the slow pace. He added when he placed pressure on the filly she failed to respond.

Jockey Browne stated his mount began well but after travelling a short distance the tempo was only slow so he allowed the mare to stride forward and settle outside MADOTTI. Jockey Browne added that when racing outside of MADOTTI the mare overraced and therefore he allowed it to stride forward and lead.

Rider questioned re disappointing performance. He said the gelding raced very one-paced today when racing second up from a spell. He added that he could offer no tangible explanation for the horse’s poor performance and suggested to connections that the gelding may be better suited in races over a greater distance than today's event. Trainer could offer no explanation for the performance, however advised that it would be his intention to step the horse up in distance and undertook to report to stewards anything that comes to light which may have had an effect on the performance.
