Rdr qd re ride from 700m, rdr expl mount had exp a good run during early stages & was travelling very strongly app the 700m. Said because of this intended to maintain cover for as long as possible to prevent geld being exposed too far from finish, when another rnr improved very quickly on outside at 700m, attempted to maneuver that runner wider, which mount resented and became unbalanced, said that on straightening pos mnt to outside of heels but was hampered. Then was forced to ease near 200m, when racing tight but having obtained clear running soon after, did not respond strongly.

Slow to begin. Questioner re performance App stated that able to ride gelding as instructed in the early stages in a rearward position. Leaving the 1000m he allowed his mount to improve to obtain a position outside WALK TO THE BAR however, passing the 800m was taken to a 3 wide position by that runner. Given the slow tempo he elected to allow MOONLIGHT DANCER to improve into race but was continually taken wider on the track as WALK TO THE BAR continued to improve on his inside. As a consequence was obliged to race very wide rounding home turn which had detrimental effect on the performance.

Fancourt, rider of AGORA, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding, in that near the 1200m she allowed her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of AWAKENINGS, which was taken in across the heels of OUR RACKETEER and as a result AWAKENINGS clipped the heels of OUR RACKETEER and lost ground
