When questioned regarding the performance, rider stated that his mount travelled comfortably throughout early stages, however, when assuming a position to outside near the 1400m it commenced to overrace, refused to settle despite efforts and set a faster tempo through the middle stages than would have liked. Added as a consequence his mount was left without a finishing effort. A post-race vet exam rev no abs.

Bayliss stated that the horse travelled comfortably in the early stages of the race, however, when challenged for the lead from the 600m commenced to weaken and did not respond to his riding at any stage over the concluding stages. Jockey Bayliss could not offer any explanation for the performance, which in his opinion was quite disappointing. Trainer S. O’Dea advised that he would discuss the horse’s immediate racing future with the owners and undertook to notify stewards should anything come to light in ensuing days which may have had an effect on the horse’s performance.
