After doing so, they declined to proceed.

When questioned regarding the performance of the filly, rider T. Harrison explained that from the wide barrier today she had to apply a little more pressure in the early stages to obtain the lead than she would have liked, and during the race was slightly pressured by a runner to her outside. She further added that at its last start the filly obtained a soft lead on a tighter track without being pressured

Stewards inquired into the circumstances of this incident and established that MORION, which was racing to the outside of TAKES TIME, had laid in under pressure in the home straight, causing its rider to stop riding and straighten near the 150m and again, despite the efforts of its rider, over the final 50m. Stewards were not satisfied that any rider was at fault in this incident.
