Jetty Betty Weakened in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer C. Cousins indicated to stewards that the mare would now be retired from racing. Stewards advised Mr Cousins that should the mare continue racing it would be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial prior to racing again. Gatton 06/04/2017

Brax Broke through the gates and galloped riderless for a considerable distance before being captured. The gelding was subsequently declared a late scratching. Trainer G. Nights Ablaze When questioned regarding its performance, App. Q Krogh stated that weight imposed may have affected its performance and that he was instructed to ride the horse back and obtain a position to the outside in order to let his mount to run home. Further stated that his mount may not have been suited to the pace of the race and when placed under pressure it failed to respond to his riding.
