Questioned re tactics - rider stated gelding usually settles in forward position and after being slow to begin allowed gelding to stride forward in the back straight in an attempt to settle outside the leader. Was then unable to cross forward of another runner near 900m to obatin that position outside of leader and was oblidged to race 3 wide without cover for the remainer. Rider conceded in hindsight that after being sloe to begin she should have obtianed cover at the rear of the field before improving into the race from the 800m.  Gold Coast  1/08/2015

Chicago  Near the 1000m had to be steadied from heels. Questioned re tactics and overall performance - Rider instructed to obtain handy position, began farily and attempted to push forward, unable to must early speed and was caught wide so restrained to obtain cover and raced further back than anticipated. Did not feel comfortable in action, laid in behind other runners when asked to improve passing 500m and proved dissapointing. Trainer noted addition of concussion plates as mare had experienced hoof issues previously. Mare would be sent for a spell. Vetted - found to have a slow recovery rate.  Gold Coast  28/03/2015

Georgio  Hampered shortly after the start. Shifted in across heels when struck with whip approaching the 100m, had to be restrained for a short distance and shift in further.   Doomben  22/07/2015 
Grey Rena  Jockey T. Treichel reported his mount whilst racing wide commenced to lay in from approaching the 600m and laid in significantly in the home straight under pressure, placing him at a disadvantage. Trainer T. Special Jay  Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight. Aldini  Obliged to steady to avoid heels after leaving the 1400m. When questioned, jockey S. Galloway stated that it was his intention to ride the gelding in a handy position, however when his mount jumped away only fairly he elected to ease and take up a position at the rear of the field.   Doomben  18/07/2015

Lost Thief  When given the opportunity to explain the horse's performance, which was below market expectation, S. Galloway stated that in his opinion the gelding races better over a longer distance when it is able to dictate its own terms. He added that the gelding may not have been suited by the step up in class. His explanation was noted. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.  Ipswich  24/07/2015

Water Boy (NZ)  Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. Weakened in the home straight. Disappointing performance - jockey stated despite being obliged to race 3 wide without cover throughout the gelding's performance was disappointing. Added early stages he attempted to press forward to obtain a position outside of the leader however, the gelding failed to respond which resulted in him being obliged to race 3 wide and was of view gelding may have come to end of current preparation. Trainer's rep disappointment in performance will wait how it recovers before making decision on current prep. Vetted - no abs  Ipswich  15/07/2015
