Inquiry re poor performance. Jockey advised that after beginning well she obtained a forward position and travelled strongly on the bit throughout the event, however when placed under pressure rounding the home turn, the filly failed to respond to her riding and proved disappointing. A post race veterinary examination revealed shin soreness in both forelegs. Trainer T. Sears advised that in light of the veterinary report it was now his intention to spell the horse immediately.

Trainer stated that whilst dissapointed she did note it was first up today and slightly up in grade. However undertook to report to stewards should anything come to light in the days subsequent which may explain the dissapointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. |
