Nonethelss, was very dissapointed in performance as under pressure leaving 600m. Of the view gelding may not have handled short 8 day back from recent start. Walhaan  G. Colless was questioned regarding his tactics and the performance of the horse. He stated that he had concerns with the way in which the gelding was travelling near the 1300m and from the 600m he elected to follow TORBAY through rather than shift around LEGSMAN and race wide. He added that WALHAAN did not stretch out in the straight and on pulling up he felt there was something amiss with the gelding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be short-striding in both forelegs. A swab sample was taken.  Doomben  9/04/2016
