Hammersley stated that the filly never travelled comfortably throughout the race and failed to run on when placed under pressure and, in his opinion, was most disappointing. Trainer S. Cushy Number  Inquiry re. tactics adopted as the horse led in todays event which is in contast to the manner in which it has been ridden recently. Mr Hull indicated that as the horse has led over a similar distance during its last preparation he did not feel that there had been a change in tactics. He also added that similar instructions had been issued at the most recent start however CUSHY NUMBER had failed to must sufficient early speed to take up a forward position. Stewards advised Mr Hull that, whilst they noted his explanation, in similar circumstances he should notify stewards of his intentions.  Sunshine Coast  8/05/2016

Grecian Summer  Jockey J. Byrne reported he was caught racing 3 wide in the early stages, however the filly travelled well in the early stages. He said from the 600m when placed under pressure it failed to respond to his riding and was most disappointing.
