In this incident, GREYT START lost significant ground. Furthermore, on returning to scale apprentice H. Weakend in the straight after leading - rider stated he had to work hard in early stages of the race which was detrimental to the geldings performance. Memphis Girl  Raced wide throughout. When questioned regarding the horse's performance, trainer T. Whittington expressed his disappointment, notwithstanding the fact that the filly was forced to race wide throughout the event. Hesitation  Leaving 1200m steadied when placed in restricted room to inside of LITTLE MISS ROCKER, which was inclined to lay in at that point. Passing 500m was inconvenienced by GUNSMOKE, which was taken out by LITTLE MISS ROCKER and then laid out rounding home turn. Zimbali (FR)  Apprentice jockey L. Dittman advised the gelding responded to his riding when pressured from the 500m, however weakened in the home straight and was disappointing. A post race veterinary examination revealed lameness on the off foreleg. Alfie Junior  Kicked by another runner behind the barriers, inspected by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. Began awkwardly. When questioned regarding the horse's disappointing performance, jockey S. Galloway stated that after being very fractious during its preliminary and behind the barriers the gelding began awkwardly and for this reason he was unable to ride the horse in a forward position. He added that he placed the horse under pressure leaving the 600m, however it failed to respond to his riding and in his opinion was disappointing. Martial Art  Tightened for room at the start.Stewards questioned jockey M. Cahill in relation to his riding from the 700m when it appeared he had opportunity to improve between horses.M Cahill agreed the horse was travelling well enough to improve at this point, however as TUMBLING AL had been inclined to hang out and he had similar concerns that DREAM SPEED may shift in, he was reluctant to improve into what he felt was only a tight run. Vimzig  When questioned regarding the poor performance, jockey R. Goltz advised that the gelding never travelled strongly on the bit throughout the event. He added that from the 500m he was able to follow the eventual winner into the race, however VIMZIG failed to sprint as he expected at that point of the race and over the concluding stages proved disappointing.
