Cheap Date Overraced in the early stages. Blundered in the near foreleg after passing the winning post and fell, dislodging jockey A. Allen. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality, and after stewards inquired into the matter with jockey A. Allen, they were satisfied from the evidence, that the horse was tiring and weakened over the concluding stages blundered, causing the fall. Subsequent to the event, a delegation of riders approached stewards and requested an inspection of the track after the winning post. Tin's Pocket Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped JETINTOIT. Overraced in the early stages. Clipped the heels of another runner and blundered approaching the 100m when attempting to shift out to secure clear running. Toowoomba 14/01/2017

Wack'em After settling outside leader near 1000m commenced to overrace and continued through middle stages despite rider's efforts, resulting in horse weakening over final 300m. To be spelled. Gold Coast 19/11/2016
King Red Stewards questioned trainer B. Laming regarding the horse's seemingly improved performance. Mr Laming noted that at the gelding's previous start it raced wide throughout and towards the rear of the field. He added that the gelding benefited today from the small field and was able to race closer to the speed. Stewards noted the explanation. Ipswich 30/12/2016

Resolute J. Taylor reported that after beginning reasonably, and as he did not want to be trapped three wide, he allowed his mount to stride forward to obtain a position outside the leader passing the 1000m, but after doing so the gelding commenced to overrace and therefore he allowed it to stride to the lead and it continued to overrace for the majority of the event, which he believed may have had a bearing on its finishing effort where it tired over the final 200m. Zoutano When questioned regarding the horse's seemingly improved performance, trainer C. Munce advised that the gelding has been showing more ability in track work than it has in its race performances. He said that last start it travelled will in the run on the speed but failed to finish the race off over the concluding stages. Therefore, he elected to remove the blinkers for today's event. He added that the horse was having its third run back from a spell in the appropriate grade today and he was hopeful that the horse would race much better and he was not entirely surprised by its win. Old Tex Had to be checked inside the 100m when tiring. D. Tourneur, the rider of TAMBO'S HEART, was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift out near the 100m when not fully clear. At the same stage, MONO LAD shifted in slightly. J. Byrne, the rider of MONO LAD, immediately endeavoured to correct his mount. Rider M. Walker reported that the gelding was inclined to hang out throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed fresh ulceration to the offside cheek. Eagle Farm 10/12/2016
