Race 4
Rahdane Trainer C. Munce was fined $200 for failing to effect the late gear change of the addition of blinkers by the prescribed time. Jockey J. Morris reported that it had been his intention to ride the horse in a more forward position, however after being slightly slow to begin was obliged to settle at the tail of the field. Overraced in the early stages. Had difficulty securing clear running in the early stages of the home straight. Sunshine Coast 12/03/2017
Good Catch When questioned regarding the performance, Jockey S Doyle explained that it was his intention to ride the horse in a forward position however, the gelding could not muster any early speed and as a result settled mid-field with cover. He added that when he applied pressure rounding the home turn GOOD CATCH did not respond and was disappointing in its finishing effort. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities at the time of examination. Gold Coast 11/03/2017

Daisy Wheel Bumped shortly after the start. Raced greenly in the middle stages. Inclined to hang out passing the 400m and rounding the home turn. Ballina 10/03/2017
Bouchard Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after suffering a minor injury whilst being transported to the track and was passed fit to race. Sunshine Coast 11/12/2016
Sheza Lily After being slow to begin, hampered soon after the start when bumped by GREY STEYNE. Became unbalanced and made contact with the running rail when tightened for room near the 800m. Near the 100m inconvenienced when momentarily tightened for room. Gold Coast 11/03/2017
Nice to Dream Began awkwardly and shifted out abruptly. When questione jockey J. Taylor stated that from the wide barrier it was always his intention to take up a forward position. He added that at the filly’s last start it raced over a 1000m and today stepping up to the 1400m the filly showed good gate speed and as such he found a forward position easily and as runners had improved to his inside it was evident he was going to be caught racing 3 wide and therefore elected to press forward and assume the lead and the filly’s best performances have been when able to take up a postion close to the speed. Suavado Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. Jockey R McMahon reported that after racing wide he tested the filly approaching the home turn and soon after straightening he eased SUAVADO down as it was not responding to his riding. Gold Coast 11/03/2017

Mishani Sleuth Badly buffeted approaching first turn and eventually steadied when crowded for room between ONE MANSINI, which shifted out and CAFÉ TERRACE, which in turn shifted in. Eagle Farm 08/03/2017
Balboa Rocks Rider reported colt travelled well until placed under pressure and failed to respond to his riding from 600m and as a result eased it over concluding stages. Vetted - no abnormalities swab sample taken - barrier trial. Trainer advised intention to spell colt after disappointing effort. Eagle Farm 29/10/2016

Red Ochre Overraced rounding the first turn. Passing the 300m was steadied when tightened for room. When questioned, trainer stated that in an effort to have the mare settle into her new training location he may have been to light on her workload. Tnr advised he would look to give the mare more taxing work prior to its next start. P/R vet exam revealed mare to be sucking air behind (pneumovagina). Ballina 10/03/2017
