Rider questioned reasons why he elected to shift outwards after leaving 800m to race in 3 wide position - stated mare pulled hard early stages and when attempting to restrain would not come back to him and relax and as a result he allowed it to shift outwards approaching the 600m and away from LA DOLCE VITA. Added that in his opinion HIGH SPECS then settled.

Added after doing this gelding inclined to overrace and raced ungenerously. Further added in home straight when placed under pressure gelding shifted in abruptly resulting in him having to stop and straighten.

He was of the opinion that the pace of the race did not suit the horse as when the race developed into a sprint home the gelding was left flat-footed and could not make up ground. He indicated that connections suggested that they may consider sending the horse for a spell.
